Beer Can Chicken

RUB -
1/4 cup coarse salt (Kosher)
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup paprika
2 T black pepper

Oil outside of chicken and put your favorite rub all over chicken - stuff neck with onion -set the whole chicken over beer can (pour out 1/4 of the beer) after rubbing inside of chicken with oil and I also spray the beer can with Pam. Let sit over night in the refrigerator, tented with foil. Preheat your grill for 10 minutes. Set bird on center of grill with side burners on high. Chicken should not be over direct heat.   Cook 1 hr- 1 1/2hr or until breast meat reaches 160* internally. Enjoy!!

Note (Chicken does not taste like beer - you can use 7UP also)

Someone on the Quilting Board asked for grilling recipes. Several ladies responded with this.  We've tried it and the chicken is so moist and delicious.  A keeper of a recipe.
