32oz pkg. Frozen Oreida hash browns
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pint sour cream
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 c. butter, melted
1 ½ c. corn flakes, crushed
2 c. extra sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 350*
Cook chopped onion in microwave for 1 ½ minutes. Mix everything together in a large bowl except for corn flakes and half the butter. Put mixture in a 11x7 glass baking dish. (I use 2 glass pie plates) Sprinkle corn flakes over top and pour the rest of the butter over the corn flakes. Bake 1 hour for the 11x7" pan and about 40 minutes for the pie pans. Let brown.
This is definitely a holiday dish. Many calories but delicious. My friend, Jocelyn, made this several times for church events. I just had to have the recipe. It goes great with ham or you name it.
